Notting Hill School of English

Notting Hill School of English

Notting Hill is not only one of my favorite films, but also one of the most popular districts of London. That’s why, the famous Notting Hill door has become the symbol of my school. The door is also the way to learn new things, the way to freedom and many life opportunities that can be achieved with the ability to speak foreign languages, especially English!

Notting Hill School of English

About me

My name is Magdalena Zielińska-Walkowicz.

For the past 20 years, I have worked as an English teacher at the STO school in Krakow, and for the last 7 years, I have also been the head of English teachers. I am a certified teacher of the Ministry of Education.

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the English Teachers’ Training College at the Jagiellonian University, then with a master’s degree in English Philology at the Jagiellonian University, as well as a one-year postgraduate course in translation at the UNESCO Chair of the Jagiellonian University. I constantly attend courses that allow me to discover new methods and teaching ideas for my students. The most recent courses I have attended are: English for Media Literacy for Educators (2023), as well as, Critical Media Literacy and Environmental Justice (2024) organised by the US Embassy in Poland.

I love books, music, tennis and travelling, but my passion has always been English. Even as a little girl, I wanted to become a teacher. Working at school has always given me a lot of satisfaction and joy. My dream has always been to create my own school of English.

And here is the result…
